”But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:20-27
“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35
“And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.” Matthew 5:41
These are all very familiar verses of Scripture. We are The Church of God, the Body of Christ, and children of God. As we all know, it seems we are more closely connected to our Church family, our Brothers and Sisters than we are to most of our flesh-and-blood relations. This is because we have a greater and eternal bond bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus.
There are some needs one of our precious Brothers would like for us to come together and pray about. Brother Aldridge is asking for special prayer for his children and grandchildren. These needs are so great and heavy that our Brother is asking us for help. There probably is not one of us who cannot relate to the urgent need to see our families turned around and reconciled unto our Saviour. How glorious it will be when our families come to know the Lord! Then we can share the special bond we have with one another, with them too!
Please, Saints of God, let us hold Brother and Sister Aldridge up in prayer before God. Let us call out his children and grandchildren unto the Lord in effectual fervent prayers that will avail much! Remember we are His House of Prayer!
